CalAssist Mortgage Fund
Provides grants up to $20,000 to homeowners whose homes were destroyed or left uninhabitable in recent fire, floods, and other disasters. This includes those individuals whose homes were destroyed by the LA-area firestorms earlier this year.

California Alternate Rates for Energy
Offers a 30-35% discount on electric bills and a 20% discount on natural gas bills for qualifying ratepayers. For the CARE Program, electrical companies with 100,000 or more customer accounts in California offer a 30-35% discount, while electrical companies with fewer than 100,000 customer accounts in California offer a 20% discount.

Provides communications equipment and services to persons with cognitive, mobility, and speech-related disabilities. The program’s accessible products and services are fully subsidized, removing financial barriers.

California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKS)
The CalWORKS program gives cash aid and services to eligible California families in need. The program serves all 58 counties in the state and is operated locally by county welfare departments. If a family is in need, CalWORKs may be able to provide immediate short-term help with housing, food, utilities, clothing, or medical care. Families that apply and qualify for ongoing assistance receive money each month to help pay for housing, food, and other necessary expenses.

CalVet Home Loans
Offers a home loan benefit for veterans who want to purchase a home and live in California. The package includes low fees, competitive interest rates, little to no down payment, flexible guidelines, a comprehensive home protection plan, and other benefits designed to support California veterans in the homeownership process. Most honorably discharged veterans and active-duty service members are eligible.
