UPLIFTING STATE RESOURCES: CALKIDS
Did you know that your child may qualify for free money toward their college education? CalKIDS is a children’s savings account program administered by the ScholarShare Investment Board, that offers families the tools to start saving for college. Newborn and eligible public school children in low-income households can receive an initial seed deposit and other potential financial incentives.

CREATING MATERIALS THAT RESONATE

California Indian Manpower Consortium, Inc. (CIMC), an OCPSC grantee, served a critical role in the State’s priority campaigns including the COVID pandemic and extreme heat.
Their outreach efforts consider cultural traditions, address misinformation, meet people where they gather, and center creating relevant messages and materials. Last year, the organization created Nature’s Nurture, a stunning coloring book that educates Californians about Native traditions and values and explores environmental connection.
