  • Golden Bear Pass

    Provides free vehicle day-use access at over 200 California State Parks-operated units. For SSI recipients, 62+ years whose income falls under threshold, CalWORKs and TANF recipients.

  • Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program

    HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program) provides free, confidential one-on-one counseling, education, and assistance to individuals and their families on Medicare, Long-Term Care insurance, other health insurance related issues, and planning ahead for Long-Term Care needs. HICAP also provides legal assistance or legal referrals in dealing with Medicare or Long-Term Care insurance related issues.

  • Health Insurance Coverage

    The California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) requires California health plans to help victims of natural disasters, including earthquakes, wildfires and flooding, who are experiencing problems obtaining health care services. This could include speeding up approvals for care, replacing lost prescriptions and ID cards, or quickly arranging health care at other facilities.

  • Heat Ready CA

    The website offers safety tips and resources during extreme heat to Californians, including people most vulnerable to heat-related health concerns, such as older adults, people with disabilities and chronic conditions, pregnant people, young children, urban residents, and those without easy access to air conditioning. The website is available in English, Spanish, and 10 additional languages.

  • Home Safe Program

    Supports safety and housing stability for individuals involved in Adult Protective Services, individuals in the Adult Protective Services intake process, or who may be served by a Tribal social services agency and appear eligible for Adult Protective Services, and who are unhoused or at risk of becoming unhoused.

  • Homeless Assistance Program

    Helps families in the CalWORKs program meet the costs of securing or maintaining permanent housing or to provide emergency shelter when a family is unhoused. This program is administered through CalWORKs at the county level. Contact your local county welfare office to apply/learn more.
