Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program
A federally funded program that helps low-income households pay for heating or cooling in their homes. ​Eligibility for LIHEAP services can vary depending on income, household size, place of residence, and other factors.

Low-Income Weatherization Program
Provides low-income households with solar photovoltaic systems and energy efficiency upgrades at no cost. One of the California Climate Investments, the Low Income Weatherization Program reduces greenhouse gas emissions by saving energy and Housing & Utilities generating clean renewable power. The program also reduces energy expenses for low-income households, strengthening their economic security.

Lunch at the Library
Lunch at the Library provides free USDA summer meals and activities for children and teens at their local library as well as volunteer and internship opportunities for teens. Families can reach out to find out if their local library is currently serving summer meals.

Medi-Cal Access Program (MCAP)
Provides pregnant individuals with comprehensive coverage for no-cost with no copayments or deductibles for its covered services, regardless of citizenship and immigration status. Their newborns may be covered by the Medi-Cal Access Infant Program. MCAP is for middle-income families who do not have health insurance and whose income is too high for no-cost Medi-Cal. MCAP is also available to individuals who have other health insurance plans that don’t cover maternity services or with a maternity-only deductible or copayment greater than $500.

Medical Baseline
The program provides additional gas and electricity allowances at the lowest rate for individuals with specific medical conditions or equipment needs, such as respiratory devices, dialysis machines, and motorized wheelchairs. Contact your utility company for more information and additional resources.

Middle Class Scholarship
Middle Class Scholarship provides undergraduate students, including students pursuing a teaching credential, with a scholarship to attend a University of California (UC), California State University (CSU), or California Community College Bachelor’s degree program. Check website for eligibility.
