  • Community Emergency Response Team

    The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.

  • COMPASS: The California Online Media Program for Access and Student Success

    Offering research and homework assistance, COMPASS provides California’s public k-12 schools and students digital access to educational content from Britannica, ProQuest, TeachingBooks, and Gale. All content is aligned with California’s educational standards.

  • Consumer Assistance Program

    Offers eligible Californian’s financial assistance with emissions-related repairs if their vehicle fails a Smog Check.  Californian’s may also receive a financial incentive to retire their vehicle regardless of whether it fails or passes a Smog Check.  

  • Consumer Resources

    A collection of educational content designed to promote financial empowerment for California consumers. This resource covers topics like loans, saving money, managing debt, crypto, fraud prevention, and includes relevant consumer alerts and information on upcoming public events.

  • Contraception

    Information on birth control (contraception) to prevent pregnancy and options for free or low-cost birth control, regardless of immigration status.

  • Contractor State License Board (CSLB) Disaster Help Center

    Learn how to protect yourself using CSLB’s resources, including the “Find My Licensed Contractor” and “License Check” features.

  • Courts in California Self-Help Centers

    Providing legal information and resources to people without a lawyer. Help can be in person, over the phone or online.

  • Covered California

    California’s official health insurance exchange or “marketplace” to help find affordable coverage. Covered California plans are made more affordable due to subsidies and tax credits available based on income, which can significantly reduce monthly premium costs. Participating Californians can also apply for Medi-Cal through the same joint application to determine which plan they qualify for.

  • Day Reporting Centers

    Day Reporting Centers offer a “one-stop shop” comprehensive service delivery program to meet the assessed needs of Californians on parole. Services provided include individual and group counseling, anger management, employment services, cognitive and life skills training, budgeting and money management, and more.

  • Deaf Access Program

    The Deaf Access Program ensures that California’s public programs are adapted to meet the communication needs of the state’s deaf and hard of hearing population. The services provided include sign language interpretation, crisis advocacy services, employment services, counseling, and independent living skills instruction.
